ผ้าร่ม เป็นผ้าที่บาง ราบ กระชับ โปร่งใส มีลายริ้วเล็ก มาจากเปอร์เซีย แต่ก่อนหน้านี้ผลิตด้วยใยไหมพรม ปัจจุบัน ผ้าร่ม ทำจากใยโพลีเอสเตอร์ 100% มีลักษณะการผลิตที่ทำให้มีความกระชับ พื้นผ้าเนียน

ใยโพลีเอสเตอร์ขาว ที่ถูกทอเข้าด้วยกันอย่างหนาแน่น ทำให้ผ้าแข็งแรง และรักษารูปร่างได้ดีกว่าผ้าอื่นๆ ผ้าชนิดนี้ไม่ค่อยยืดหยุ่น ไม่หย่อนคล้อยและตกค้าง มีความแข็งแรงและทนทานในการใช้งาน เป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ที่เป็นมิตรต่อผิว ผ้าแบบการถักปกติ ทำให้ผ้าต้านการหดหรือฉีกขาดได้ดี ให้ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่โปร่งใส ระบายอากาศได้ดีและแห้งเร็ว สะดวกต่อการดูแลรักษาและไม่เปลี่ยนแปลงขนาดหลังซัก (40 C) ผ้าชนิดนี้ทำจากสารที่เป็นมิตรกับผิวหนัง

การใช้งานหลักของผ้าชนิดนี้คือเป็นชั้นซับเสื้อผ้าภายในหรือริบบิ้น นอกจากนี้ยังใช้เป็นชุดแต่งงานผู้หญิง เพื่อประดับตกแต่ง ม่าน ธงชาติ และว่าว เป็นต้น

Taffeta is a thin, smooth, crisp, transparent fabric having a fine rib. Originated from Persia, it was then made with silk fibres. Taffeta is now 100% made of polyester. It has a characteristic finish which produces crispness. Smooth, densely woven polyester long fibers yield a stiff, starched-like cloth that holds its shape better than many other fabrics and does not sag or drape, a high strength and durability in use. The plain weave makes the fabric resistant to abrasion and tearing. It is breathable and quick-drying, easy to maintain and does not change dimensions after washing (40 C). Width is 60”, thickness is 0.1mm and weights only 60 g/m2. This fabric is available in 14 different plain colors: black, dark blue, blue, sky blue, pink, purple, red, wine, brown, dark green, apple green, orange, yellow and white.

Polyester fabrics are used extensively in apparel and home furnishings, from shirts and pants to aprons, jackets, bed sheets and blankets, upholstered furniture. Its toughness makes it a frequent choice for children's wear.

Polyester fabrics can be used for fashionable dresses, but it is most admired for its ability to resist wrinkling and shrinking while washing the product. Cotton-polyester blends can be strong, wrinkle- and tear-resistant, and reduce shrinking.
